To BMX and skateboard fans, Jimmy Walker and his buds will be at Busch Gardens Tampa again April 16th and 17th (check out: http://www.buschgardenstampablog.com/news/ramp-jam-1) for another Ramp Jam!
To Darrell G., Yes, we'd love to have you and your fellow track mates join us as we ride in to your track. I will be in touch via email with some possible meet up points. Thanks!
Hello to Sheena who is finally getting her day in the sun in the slowly defrosting Canadian North! I call dibs now on the front porch of wherever we find to meet in Pittsburgh in July.
To Gmom, Jay is Frankenbutt because he has a scar on his back side, I am Butterball because, like the turkey, I've got to be just the right temperature before I'm happy and Neva is the Beast because she pushed so hard against my pelvic muscles in utero that I had to wear a "truss" the last semester of my pregnancy. I'll call soon to clarify.
It is so easy to be married to Frankenbutt. He makes us laugh every day and always tries to make life better for the kids and me. A few weeks ago, I mentioned that although my bike saddle is relatively comfortable, by 40 miles of riding, my "hoo hoo" gets a little sore. Without prompting, he looked up solutions on an Estrogen Cycling website, adjusted the tilt of my seat and I haven't had the issue since.
Frankenbutt worked with the Editor and now the Beast on how to apply make up in a way that let's their natural beauty show through. He has helped paint fingernails and toenails and he has trimmed their hair (and mine) when requested. He respects that each of them has their own taste in clothing choices but reminds them that their choices ought to represent who they are and not just the latest trends.
Over the years, he has also taught them to ride bikes, drive cars (the Editor holds the best record for learning to drive stick), to cook and has handled most of the technical and electronic questions that arise. I handle the algebra questions, financial decision making and all aspects of travel planning. Although, he typically handles boy health issues and I handle girls' health needs, he didn't hesitate to help the Editor when I was unavailable. Unsure of what she needed, he bought a huge selection (2 bags full) of personal products for her at the local drug store. I can't imagine what the clerk thought but I know it made the Editor happy.
We had a relaxed day in beach chairs as the Beast and her ultra cool friend, Jacob, rode water slides, jumped off simulated cliffs, rode floats down the lazy river and enjoyed some sand time. Here are a few pics.
