It was another wonderfully lazy day in camp as we waited to ride to the Cleves, OH track. We are not arriving early since camping at the track is not typically allowed. The track director has cleared it with the local officials for us to stay over this Thursday evening following the local race.
By late afternoon, the Beast got REALLY bored and begged me to let her draw tattoos on my legs. I was bored too and easily agreed. First, she made a few small pictures with her ball point pen and then as time passed by, she had pretty much covered my legs and feet with drawn on sandals, socks, etc. By dinner time, I was unsightly! But the Beast had a good time. We ate egg sandwiches again for dinner, eager to use up the supplies before hitting the road in the morning.
After dinner, the Beast and I hauled the laundry to the washers and dryers near the shower house. The clothes washed while I scrubbed away on my legs. Even after diligent scrubbing, I still saw remnants of the Beast’s artwork when I laid down in the tent. No biggie.
We set the alarm for 7am and planned to get an early start for the Cleves track, which is about 35+/- miles from the Hueston Woods State Park Campground. We weren’t really tired after a lazy day and we all decided to watch some of the Top Gear episodes that the Beast’s sister had given her as a download for her birthday. I think I was the first one “out” as usual but I awoke in the night when the Beast was babbling in her sleep, claiming “I work here. Check it out. I work here.” Hmm.
