I also spent some time today reviewing our route plan, making campground reservations, fielding phone calls from the NBL and setting up our “where are they now?” aspect so that our readers can track where we are. We will be posting instructions on how to see our current location on our Wednesday night blog. Don’t worry, it’ll be easy … I’m not a techie so I tend to keep it simple. Until then, follow us on www.twitter.com by searching “ridethenation”. It’s easy and we will be posting short mid-day updates, once we put the rubber to the road this Wednesday.
In case you’re wondering, we did not ride today. As planned, we rode hard last week, did a recovery ride on Sunday and are “resting” today and most of tomorrow. Although we do not have a professional trainer, Frankenbutt has researched all types of training and came up with a plan that has worked really well for us. So, if he says we rest, we rest. But, of course, I’m restless!
I stumbled across an interesting bicycle story today, while I was between loads of laundry. Apparently Ikea gave over 12,000 bicycles to its employees this past Christmas. If you’d like to read more about it, check out the whole story at http://www.examiner.com/bicycle-travel-in-national/cykels-for-everyone-ikea-gifts-employee-with-bicycles . I love that story!
We hope to have some more exciting news tomorrow about some possible newspaper coverage of our EPIC bicycle ride. Until then, feel free to weigh in with your wisdom and advice by clicking on the “add comment” at the end of this blog.
