Well, we are getting lots of rest mixed with a few errands. On Wednesday, I picked up Gmom and took her to her eye dr. appointment in Cherry Hill, NJ. She's been suffering for years with a rare eye disease that has all but taken her sight from one eye and left her very impaired in the other eye. She gave up driving a few years ago and has felt very isolated and dependent on others, which has been difficult for an independent woman like her to handle. Whenever I'm local, I try to get her out of the house and we oft times end up at her eye dr's office, followed by a relaxing lunch out.
When I lived nearby and had a crazy event business, Gmom would drop by and keep me company while I sorted and prepped materials, wrapped Christmas presents or balanced my checkbook. Since we moved away, her house is often our first stop back in town and she has always allowed us to park our camper in her yard, leave vehicles behind and as of late, sleep in her murphy bed since our camper is down in Florida. We've had many an entertaining dinner ... the funniest being the evening she accidentally knocked a glass of wine in my direction, bespeckling me and the wall behind me.
Following lunch at Red Lobster, I had to get back to the Vineland area and sign off on some paperwork for a personal matter and then run the Beast to visit with her first BMX girlfriend, Brittney. "Pentertainment", Brittney's mom, invited the Beast for an overnight stay and the Beast could hardly
wait to go swimming with Brit and her little sister, Sydney, a tough 7 year old BMXer!
Frankenbutt and I left Coco to be puppy-sat with her Grammy (my mom) and then headed towards Hamilton Mall to meet up with the Editor and newfound friend, Lee. I like that kid! We all met up at Chili's and enjoyed half priced appetizers before heading over to the 5 Below store. We discovered that Lee and Frankenbutt have something in common: Yo Yo's! They each bought Saber Raider YoYos and strung them up. Pretty impressive, LEE! But I think the husband can still teach you
a trick or two. And he'd love to do just that so keep your yo yo handy.
Next we headed to the movie theater. The Editor and I had planned to see the Hangover 2 when I got local since I laughed like crazy at the original "Hangover" movie. The sequel followed the same basic pattern as the original but still served up a few surprises and kept me laughing. Following the movie, we hung out in the parking lot and enjoyed a few more laughs and then headed back to my mom's. I fell into bed and slept like a log.
Tonight (Thursday), we are heading to Hara's for dinner. She went to school with Frankenbutt and has been such a supporter of our big biking project. I can't wait to meet her and her family!
